Old installers

Every app you install from the web leaves its installer behind in Downloads. After installing, you rarely need it again.

What counts as an installer

  • Disk images (.dmg)
  • Installer packages (.pkg, .mpkg)
  • macOS and Xcode installers (.iso, .xip)

What Roomy does

Installers in Downloads that are more than a week old go to the Trash, not straight to deletion. If you need one back in the next 30 days, it’s right there in the Trash.

Zip files and other archives aren’t removed automatically, because they often hold things you still want. Roomy lists big ones as suggestions instead.
